Presentation at the ICL 2024
Andy Lücking and Jonathan Ginzburg (Université Paris Cité) will present their work on multimodal clarification interaction at the 21st International Congress of Linguists (ICL). ICL is organized only once every five years and is the meeting place par excellence for international linguistics.
The presentation extends work on verbal repair and explores the potential for multimodal clarification by proposing constructions that enable formal descriptions.

Invited Talk: Andy Lücking Presents Gesture Semantics at the Cognitive Informatics Seminar
Andy Lücking has been invited to give a talk at the renowned interdisciplinary seminar series in Cognitive Informatics by Stevan Harnad at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
He will talk about gesture semantics such as pointing, deferred reference, and iconic gestures. The seminar series is multidisciplinary (computer science, psychology, neuroscience, biology, linguistics, philosophy) and has included speakers such as Stephen Clark (Deep Mind); Karl Friston (UCL); David Chalmers (NYU); Friedemann Pulvermueller (Freie U, Berlin); Art Glenberg (ASU); Gary Lupyan (UW-Madison), among others.
